Six RTF (Radioiodine Test Facility) tests were performed at AECL/Whiteshell, Canada, in the framework of the COG (Candu Owners Group) - PHEBUS FP agreement with the objective of providing data for iodine behaviour under conditions relevant to the integral PHEBUS tests. RTF tests results constitute a very important database both for helping the interpretation of PHEBUS tests and for the validation of iodine chemistry codes such as IODE. The first part of this report provides an overview of the PHEBUS/RTF tests main results. The second part of the report is devoted to the validation work performed for the code IODE, version 4.2 included in ESCADRE modl.2. Tests performed with silver mesh (RTF3 and RTF6) were used for the validation of the newly developed model of Ag/I reactions in the sump.

Validation of the Iodine Chemistry Code Iode 4.2 - Interpretation of PHEBUS/RTF Tests

1998-09-02
