At the ENEL Hydro laboratories in Seriate (near Bergamo) is present a structure simulating a small building, built in the 80th. This structure was used far previous seismic test, some years ago, and it will be used far tests in the frame of the SPIDER Project. The application of the devices studied in the frame of the SPIDER project to the mock-up needs to evaluate the influence of the different damper design parameter in order to choose a proper configuration to be used during the tests. This configuration must allow some millimetres damper stroke during the tests to simulate the real behaviour during an earthquake, but it must limit the telal deformation of the structure and the inter storey drift, to limit the possible damage and to avoid the collapse. Abstract

Reported in this note are the results of the numerical analysis performed with a Finite Element Model (FEM) of the structure, equipped with the Damper Cable System (DCS), implemented in the ABAOUS Code [1]. In these parametric analysis different values far the damper stiffness, cable and damper preload, C coefficient were taken into account. Different cable size and load levels were also considered.
