Abstract

This report focuses on different special shutdown systems specifically engineered for prevention and mitigation of severe accidents, to be implemented on fast reactors. These passive devices are conceived to be self-actuated without any signal elaboration, since the actuation of the system is triggered by the effects induced by the transient like material dilatation, in case of overheating of the coolant for instance, according to Sodium Fast Reactor design to meet the safety requirements.
