Using the multi-purpose Monte Carlo codes FLUKA and LCS, a wide analysis on residual nuclei production in thin and thick target has been performed. The dependence of the kind of the exotic isotopes produced and their yield on the production mechanism (spallation, fission, fragmentation), along with the production target features (material, composition, thickness, volume) and the beam source features (kind of particle, energy) has been evaluated. Problems concerning the energy deposited in the target by various proton beams have been analysed too.

Abstract
Using the multi-purpose Monte Carlo codes FLUKA and LCS, a wide analysis on residual nuclei production in thin and thick target has been performed. The dependence of the kind of the exotic isotopes produced and their yield on the production mechanism (spallation, fission, fragmentation), along with the production target features (material, composition, thickness, volume) and the beam source features (kind of particle, energy) has been evaluated. Problems concerning the energy deposited in the target by various proton beams have been analysed too.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
