The air-flow induced in a recator containment by a water spray is investigated. A mathematical model for the description of air-spray coupled flows is presented and validated on the basis of a comparison with experimental tests carried out in a closed vessel using a solid dispersed phase. The model proved to well describe the dynamic interactions between the two phases and important recirculating air flows have been measured. The results of parametric analyses on the influence that the particle diameter and mass flux have on the air flow are given. Finally a simulation of a water spray in a reactor containment is presented.

Abstract
The air-flow induced in a recator containment by a water spray is investigated. A mathematical model for the description of air-spray coupled flows is presented and validated on the basis of a comparison with experimental tests carried out in a closed vessel using a solid dispersed phase. The model proved to well describe the dynamic interactions between the two phases and important recirculating air flows have been measured. The results of parametric analyses on the influence that the particle diameter and mass flux have on the air flow are given. Finally a simulation of a water spray in a reactor containment is presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
