This paper reports, the main features of the numerical studies recently performed in Italy on the Japanese Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB), on the Japanese isolated rigid mass mock-up, and the Korean isolated pool for the storage of spent fuel. Activities were carried out in the framework of the four years' Co-ordinated Research Programme (CRP) of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Intercomparison of Analysis Methods for Seismically Isolated Nuclear Structures. The numerical results were validated through comparison with experimental data. The reliability of Finite Element Models (FEMs) for simulating the behaviour of both bearings and isolated structures is presented and discussed.
