A new approach to model the efficiency degradation of PV arrays is presented and checked on an actual outdoor Si-module array, whose efficiency has been periodically measured for over 37 years. Two degradation mechanisms are hypothesized, one linear and the other non-linear. Measured degradation is successfully fitted. © 2018 IEEE.
