Within the framework of the international cooperation on the PDS- XADS (Preliminary Design Studies of an eXperimental Accelerator Driven System) project, a 80 MWth LBE cooled model has been proposed by ANSALDO/ENEA. The purpose of this technical note is to present preliminary results relative to the investigation of the reactivity void effect corresponding to an hypothetical 100 % coolant voiding in the fuel region. Particular attention has been given to the evaluation of the axial distribution of the void effect in the fuel region.

Abstract
