The aim of AQUASAVE project is to design and build an apartment house in Bologna - Italy to demonstrate the possibility to save up 50% of drinking water. The idea is to introduce: treated gray water for toilet flushing; rain water, after treatment and storage, in dishwashers and washing machines; appropriate devices to reduce water consumption The project includes an analysis of the environmental sustainability of the water recycle and reuse technologies. The purpose of this presentation is to show the preliminary results and lesson learned from the application of Life Cycle Assessment to drinking and wastewater treatment systems.
