The preliminary version of the ICARE2 V3 Mod0 Code, used for the pre-test calculation of the FPT4 PHEBUS FP test, has been tested against the MP-1 experiment, part of the MP (Melt Progression) program at SNL (Sandia National Laboratories). The comparison calculation vs. experiment indicates a good agreement for the temperature profiles in the debris bed before melt, confirming the validity of the IMURA-YAGI correlation, previously assessed against DC-1 experiment,for the modelling of the debris bed thermal behaviour. Concerning the melt progression phase, the code capability to reproduce the key features of the test is supported by the comparison between the calculated and measured final material disposition.
