Microwaves irradiation was used for the activation of a number of transesterification reactions, such as the alcoholysis and the glycerolysis of triglycerides. Compared to the methods currently used to perform these reactions, higher yields and conversions are observed in presence of microwaves. Besides a lower energy consumption, this method of activation allows both a reduction of the reaction temperature and time and avoid also the degradation of the products.

Abstract
Microwaves irradiation was used for the activation of a number of transesterification reactions, such as the alcoholysis and the glycerolysis of triglycerides. Compared to the methods currently used to perform these reactions, higher yields and conversions are observed in presence of microwaves. Besides a lower energy consumption, this method of activation allows both a reduction of the reaction temperature and time and avoid also the degradation of the products.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
