The first step in the preservation effort of the collective memory is a complete census of the existing material, and its classification in a complete database. With reference to seismic events, the successive steps are: the hazard analysis and the seismic microzoning of the area in which relevant structure are located, in order to define the maximum expected event and the study of the seismic performance of the buildings, which contain historical books and documents, by means of experimental analysis and seismic monitoring. Nowadays a suitable seismic preservation of buildings can be obtained by using innovative anti-seismic devices.
