Transient electromagnetic pulses in the radiofrequency-microwave regime and with very high intensities are produced because of the interaction of high energy and high power lasers with targets. This is of particular importance for laser facilities in the context of both laser-plasma acceleration and inertial confinement fusion. In this work we describe both in time and frequency domain the measurement results obtained with the two-beam ABC laser, in nanosecond regime, focused on a thick conductive target, and compare them with the case of a dielectric one. © 2015 IEEE.

Abstract

Transient electromagnetic pulses in the radiofrequency-microwave regime and with very high intensities are produced because of the interaction of high energy and high power lasers with targets. This is of particular importance for laser facilities in the context of both laser-plasma acceleration and inertial confinement fusion. In this work we describe both in time and frequency domain the measurement results obtained with the two-beam ABC laser, in nanosecond regime, focused on a thick conductive target, and compare them with the case of a dielectric one. © 2015 IEEE.
