This paper reports a mass balance estimation for the FPT1 experience. It constitutes the first part of the comprehensive assessment on the FPT1 containment chemistry at present into execution at Casaccia Centre. The mass balance has been based on the concentration values of Cs 137, I 131 and Te132 measured in the liquid and gaseous phases. The amount of the other isotopes of caesium, iodine and tellurium not measured has been deduced considering the behaviour of them to be completely similar to that of measured ones. The interpretation of the experimental measurements was very complicated and the difficulties arising from this involved the necessity of making a smoothing of the results.Behaviour of caesium was quite different from that of iodine and tellurium. The final tables of the results report separately activity and mass data.
