Climate variability represents one of the main phenomena able to affect the planning and management of a sustainable economic, social and environmental development. To support this development taking in account climate-related effects, a large amount of information should be collected in order to make efficient decisions. Indeed climate forecasts are not enough to make effective decisions: they lack of effectiveness when they refer to relatively small areas and/or are needed for a short time-frame (usually less than three months). To improve the decision-making it is necessary, from one point, to include local meteorological, geographic, orographical information and, to the other point, raising knowledge about local stakeholders (organizations, public bodies and companies) and their requirements related to the type of information they might need. For this reason this report analyses 5 economic sectors (energy, water supply and management, agriculture, transport, tourism) of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, considered as a perfect case study since its geographical, climate and socio-economic features, to assess, through a stakeholder analysis, the characteristics of the main sectors, the typology and number of stakeholders and their interest about climate information, in this way defining dimension and typology of their information needs.

Abstract
For this reason this report analyses 5 economic sectors (energy, water supply and management, agriculture, transport, tourism) of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, considered as a perfect case study since its geographical, climate and socio-economic features, to assess, through a stakeholder analysis, the characteristics of the main sectors, the typology and number of stakeholders and their interest about climate information, in this way defining dimension and typology of their information needs.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
