In this report the safety assessment of the IFMIF plant as a whole is presented. The first part details the safety review pertaining to the Accelerator and the Test Cell, adopting the FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) methodology, aimed at the evaluation of potential hazards associated with their operation and the identification of initiating events of accident sequences. In the second part relevant accident sequences are identified and assessed applying the PSA (Probabilistic Safety Assessment) approach. Accident sequences are defined and quantified, in terms of expected frequencies, by means of fault tree and event tree models. The outcome is the assessment of a set of sequence families, each defining a Plant Damage State, by grouping the event tree sequences basing on common attributes, that is similarity of accident evolution and consequences.

Abstract
The outcome is the assessment of a set of sequence families, each defining a Plant Damage State, by grouping the event tree sequences basing on common attributes, that is similarity of accident evolution and consequences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
