Abstract

This is the final report of the contract FUS/19/2001/SIEC/004 on IFMIF-KEP (Key Element Technology Phase) Lithium Jet Thermal Hydraulic Design Analysis. It is comprehensive of the whole set of activities considered relevant by the IFMIF team on this subject. It first reviews and puts up the latest design parameters to be considered as Lithium Jet design IFMIF-KEP relevant guidelines. Right after they are assumed for performing the highest prioricalculation needed in the frame of the milestones of this activity. Finally the whole set of calculations and analyses requested by the Users Group have been worked out and talked over.Coherently with the requirements called for by the IFMIF users and shown here as Appendix,!a first RIGEL input was prepared. IIt has been used to give rise to the set of evaluations devoted to considering whether or not the proposed scaling-down options emerging from the EVP (Engineering Validation Phase) would do with particular respect to the specific jet design issues.A new parameter was conceived for lighting up the actual local thermal stability out to in some more depth the concept of local margin.Considerations emerging from the present analysis allow to conclude that the picked out parameters are suitabIe.
