This report, prepared in the frame of the contract n. 31000122 (Validation d'ASTEC sur TMI2) with IRSN, presents the preliminary results of the phase 2 of TMI-2 accident analysis performed by ENEA with ASTEC V1 code. For ASTEC V1 code va1idation purposes, the results have been compared to ICARE/CATHARE code results. Accident scenario, p1ant modelling and boundary conditions have been defined according to ICARE/CATHARE analysis in order to better compare the results of the two codes. The present analysis is limited to the 1st half of the phase 2, because of convergence problems in CESAR thermal-hydraulic modu1e, as soon as fuel rod liquefaction and relocation become significant and 1arge water level oscillations appear in the core and downcomer. In spite of some differences in core uncovery and heatup, the ASTEC V1 code predicts the onset of core degradation in good agreement with ICARE/CATHARE.

Abstract
In spite of some differences in core uncovery and heatup, the ASTEC V1 code predicts the onset of core degradation in good agreement with ICARE/CATHARE.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
