Within the SPIDER Project a Finite Element Model of the Mock-up equipped with the Damper Cable System (DCS) was created. During the tests performed to validate the DCS behaviour, a vibrodina applies a single frequency load in the middle of the roof. These tests are useful to evaluate the dynamic behaviour of the DCS, mounted on a structure very similar to a real building, but they are not really representative of an earthquake; thus it was decided to evaluate numerically the behaviour of the structure submitted to an earthquake trying to evaluate the differences in the behaviour; besides, to put in evidence the effect of the application of the anti seismic devices, the analysis was repeated without the DCS and the results were compared. Abstract
At the ENEL Hydro laboratories in Seriate (near Bergamo) is present a structure simulating a small building, built in the 80th. This structure was used far previous seismic test, some years ago, and it will be used far tests in the frame of the SPIDER (Strands Pre-stressing far Internal Damping of Earthquake Response) Project. The numerical analyses were performed by means of the Abaqus Code.
