The first part of the presented work deals with a critical compariison between condensation in horizontal and vertical tubes, focusing on the thermal-hydraulic aspects and describing the best-estimate correlations,, with the aim to point out the global advantages of the vertical tubes arrangement. The second part concerns instead a modification of the best-estimate thermal-hydraulic code RELAP implementing the most accurate correlations proposed as valid for the inside of a vertical pipe.
