This work is focused on the development of numerical simulations of the dynamic response during a SGTR scenario in the LIFUS 5 facility and to verify the capability of the main components of the ENEA LIFUS 5 facility to be used to develop an experimental program aimed to reproduce the situation which may arise in a LFR during a possible SGTR. Simulations have been performed with a commercial fluid-structure interaction codes ANSYS and LS-DYNA and with the in-house FEM-LCORE code, developed in collaboration with the University of Bologna.

Abstract

This work is focused on the development of numerical simulations of the dynamic response during a SGTR scenario in the LIFUS 5 facility and to verify the capability of the main components of the ENEA LIFUS 5 facility to be used to develop an experimental program aimed to reproduce the situation which may arise in a LFR during a possible SGTR. Simulations have been performed with a commercial fluid-structure interaction codes ANSYS and LS-DYNA and with the in-house FEM-LCORE code, developed in collaboration with the University of Bologna.
