This report describes the work performed by ENEA on the DRACCAR code validation against unballooned cluster ACHILLES experiments. Two experiments have been simulated with DRACCAR. The first one is the single phase (air) experiment A1A022, characterised by an inlet Reynolds number of 3000. The second one is the forced reflooding experiment A1R030, carried out with a constant water flow rate of 0.15 kg/s, corresponding to 2 cm/s of water velocity in the ACHILLES test section. The obtained numerical results and the comparison with experimental data are discussed in the report. The documented activity complies with the ENEA commitments for the first 17 months of the NURESAFE (NUclear REactor SAFEty simulation platform) Project, in the Work Package 3.1.1 (Improvements and developments of system codes and coupled fuel–thermal-hydraulics codes).

Abstract
This report describes the work performed by ENEA on the DRACCAR code validation against unballooned cluster ACHILLES experiments. Two experiments have been simulated with DRACCAR. The first one is the single phase (air) experiment A1A022, characterised by an inlet Reynolds number of 3000. The second one is the forced reflooding experiment A1R030, carried out with a constant water flow rate of 0.15 kg/s, corresponding to 2 cm/s of water velocity in the ACHILLES test section. The obtained numerical results and the comparison with experimental data are discussed in the report. The documented activity complies with the ENEA commitments for the first 17 months of the NURESAFE (NUclear REactor SAFEty simulation platform) Project, in the Work Package 3.1.1 (Improvements and developments of system codes and coupled fuel–thermal-hydraulics codes).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
