Process for the production of sugars from biomass derived from guayule plants comprising: subjecting said biomass to a biological pretreatment in the presence of at least one ligninolytic fungus obtaining a liquid phase comprising sugars and a first solid residue: subjecting said first solid residue to hydrolysis in the presence of at least one diluted inorganic acid obtaining a first hydrolysate comprising sugars and a second solid residue; subjecting said second solid residue to enzymatic hydrolysis obtaining a second hydrolysate comprising sugars and a third solid residue. The sugars thus obtained can be advantageously used as sources of carbon in fermentation processes for producing alcohols (e.g., ethanol, butanol), lipids, diols (e.g., 1,3-propanediol, 1,3-butanediol, 1,4-butanediol, 2,3-butanediol), or in chemical synthesis processes for producing other intermediates or chemical products (e.g., furfural). Said alcohols and lipids can be advantageously used in turn in the production of biofuels (e.g., biodiesel or "green diesel"), which can be used as such, or mixed with other fuels for transportation, while said diols can be used in the production of products such as bio- butadiene which can in turn be used for manufacturing rubbers (e.g., polybutadiene or copolymers thereof). Said uses are particularly important in the case of a biorefinery.

Le procédé selon l'invention de production de sucres à partir de biomasse issue de plantes de guayule consiste à : soumettre ladite biomasse à un prétraitement biologique en présence d'au moins un champignon ligninolytique, ce qui permet d'obtenir une phase liquide comprenant des sucres et un premier résidu solide; soumettre ledit premier résidu solide à une hydrolyse en présence d'au moins un acide inorganique dilué, ce qui permet d'obtenir un premier hydrolysat comprenant des sucres et un deuxième résidu solide; soumettre ledit deuxième résidu solide à une hydrolyse enzymatique, ce qui permet d'obtenir un deuxième hydrolysat comprenant des sucres et un troisième résidu solide. Les sucres ainsi obtenus peuvent être avantageusement utilisés en tant que sources de carbone dans des procédés de fermentation pour la production d'alcools (par exemple l'éthanol, le butanol), de lipides, de diols (par exemple le 1,3-propanediol, le 1,3-butanediol, le 1,4-butanediol, le 2,3-butanediol) ou dans des procédés de synthèse chimique pour produire d'autres intermédiaires ou produits chimiques (par exemple le furfural). Lesdits alcools et lipides peuvent être utilisés avantageusement à leur tour dans la production de biocarburants (par exemple le biodiesel ou "diesel vert"), qui peuvent être utilisés tels quels ou mélangés avec d'autres carburants pour le transport, tandis que lesdits diols peuvent être utilisés dans la production de produits, tels que le biobutadiène qui peut à son tour être utilisé pour la fabrication de caoutchoucs (par exemple le polybutadiène ou des copolymères correspondants).
