The life cycle assessment (LCA) study of a three phase induction motor has been carried out in the framework of the G.EN.ESI project, Work Package 4, Task 3 - Experimental estimation of environmental impacts using complete LCA method. The goal was to analyse the environmental profile of the product. The results provide the reference values for the validation of the LCA simplified tools of the G.EN.ESI platform. The LCA study has allowed the quantitative assessment of the environmental relevance of the use phase in the motor life cycle. It has also pointed out the need for a more detailed analysis of the inventories of some processes to identify the datasets most suitable for calculating the avoided impacts in the end of life of the product materials.

Abstract
The life cycle assessment (LCA) study of a three phase induction motor has been carried out in the framework of the G.EN.ESI project, Work Package 4, Task 3 - Experimental estimation of environmental impacts using complete LCA method. The goal was to analyse the environmental profile of the product. The results provide the reference values for the validation of the LCA simplified tools of the G.EN.ESI platform. The LCA study has allowed the quantitative assessment of the environmental relevance of the use phase in the motor life cycle. It has also pointed out the need for a more detailed analysis of the inventories of some processes to identify the datasets most suitable for calculating the avoided impacts in the end of life of the product materials.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
