A report on bunching and exotic undulator configurations in self-amplified spontaneous emission (SASE) free electron lasers (FEL) was presented. The article discussed about non-conventional undulator configurations for SASE FEL devices aimed at enhancing the emission on higher harmonics, reducing the saturation length and operating in less sensitive conditions for the electron beam qualities. In SASE devices, the saturation length was found 20 times larger than the gain length.

Abstract
A report on bunching and exotic undulator configurations in self-amplified spontaneous emission (SASE) free electron lasers (FEL) was presented. The article discussed about non-conventional undulator configurations for SASE FEL devices aimed at enhancing the emission on higher harmonics, reducing the saturation length and operating in less sensitive conditions for the electron beam qualities. In SASE devices, the saturation length was found 20 times larger than the gain length.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
