The development of innovative anti-seismic systems was studied. The new activities at Energy and the Environment (ENEA) were concerned with the development of civil structures (bridges, viaducts and buildings of various types) and industrial plants. The results of the numerical and experimental studies confirmed the adequacy and benefits of the proposed systems for the construction or retrofit the various types of considered structures.
